Pakistan Trade and Display Centre

Nairobi

The Pakistan Trade and Display Centre was inaugurated on 22nd March 2006, in a ceremony which was attended by various personalities from both countries including the Minister of State for Pakistan and the chairman of the Export Promotion Bureau, Mr. Tariq Ikram, the Pakistan Roving Ambassador for Sub-Sahara African countries, Mr. Hameed Kidwai, the Trade Minister for Kenya Mr. Mukhisa Kitui and the Kenyan vice-president Mr. Moody Awori. The main objective of this facility is to promote and improve the bilateral trade relationship between Kenya and Pakistan.

The PTDC's main responsibility includes displaying  Pakistani items  so that Kenya's importing businesses have a chance to broaden their scope of the world market and  facilitate their businesses with cost-effective and high-quality products from Pakistan. The Centre also provides prospective traders with information about the products through brochures and websites,  in addition to giving them the contacts of the respected exporting company, thus initiating extensive communication between the two traders.

Every visitor to the Centre is urged to sign a visitors book, specifying their area of interest and need, and offering their comments on the centre itself. This procedure allows the director of the operation to assess the various needs of the Kenyan businessman and cater to the demands of the African market, by conveying this needs to potential exporters through the Export Promotion Bureau of Pakistan.
